Responsibility

Our Sustainability Policy

Our Sustainability policy is about how Kartesia takes account of its economic, social and environmental impact in the way it operates as a business. By demonstrating our commitment to sustainability, we aim to align our business values, purpose and strategy with the needs of our Limited Partners, whilst embedding such responsible and ethical principles into everything we do. The remuneration policy is consistent with the integration of sustainability risk, in that the remuneration policy provides incentive to employees to comply with all policies and processes of Kartesia, including the Sustainability policy and other policies that include the sustainability risk in the asset management and other activities of Kartesia.

UN PRI Signatory

We are signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (“PRI”) since 2014 and have embedded responsible investing policies in our investment philosophy and in our portfolio company review processes. We report to the UN Principles for Responsible Investing annually. Reports are publicly available on their website. Kartesia participated in the first report of the PRI on the private debt market published in 2019, including through a case study. Kartesia follows the PRI Guide for GPs as practical support to implement the six Principles, and as guidance for incorporating ESG risks & opportunities into investment analysis and decision-making processes.

Kartesia Going Green Initiative

We take consideration of environmental issues in the professional services we provide and endeavour to reduce our environmental impact to an absolute minimum. All the employees ensure that the Company reduces its environmental impact. Environmental initiatives such as recycling systems and water fountains are in place in all our offices. Kartesia is a carbon neutral company since 2018 and we assess the carbon footprint of our portfolio companies on an annual basis since 2015 with the help of service provider service provider Sustainalytics.

Our Sustainability team

We have dedicated staff with a real commitment to sustainability and ESG, which translates into having a real influence and commitment to the issue. Damien Scaillierez is the Managing Partner in charge of ESG. All the employees have an ESG annual training given by our Head of CSR & ESG, Coralie De Maesschalck.

Citizenship initiatives

We are proud of our team commitment to community services and support of non-profit organizations. Key elements of our citizenship initiatives include the annual Kartesia Volunteering Day and donations to projects benefiting underprivileged children.

Kartesia For Women Initiative

We launched the Kartesia for Women initiative in 2020. The objective is to facilitate the sharing of insights and experience amongst our female employees. Also, we aim at inspiring women to join the private debt industry, particularly in investment roles.
