Kartesia wins Private Debt Investor “Lender of the Year Europe” award 2017
Kartesia, the European specialist provider of capital solutions for small and mid-sized companies, is honoured to receive two prestigious Private Debt Investor awards. Kartesia was voted Lender of the year Europe 2017 and Junior Lender of the Year Europe 2017. The awards, in their 4th year, recognise the achievements of the debt financing industry in over 50 categories from shortlists nominated by the editorial team of Private Debt Investor, a Private Equity International publication. The global awards are voted on by readers, which include industry leaders and private lending professionals.
2017 has been Kartesia’s best year to date, both in terms of investment opportunities and development thanks to the vote of confidence received from existing and new investors. In October the firm announced the closing of its fourth fund, Kartesia Credit Opportunities fund (KCO IV) which closed significantly above its hardcap at €870m. The fundraising of KCO IV took less than 9 months to complete and is €360m above its predecessor fund. Kartesia’s total AUM is now at €1.4bn invested in 103 companies.
Since inception, Kartesia has continuously focused on being a long-term partner providing bespoke financing solutions to European small and mid-cap companies and one of the team’s main strength continues to be its ability to discriminate and source the opportunities which will deliver solid returns to investors.
Buoyed by strong appetite from investors, Kartesia also continued its expansion across Europe. New offices in France, Germany and Spain in 2017 add to the network of offices in the UK, Luxembourg and Belgium and Kartesia now has a team of 23 seasoned private debt professionals.
Laurent Bouvier, Managing Partner of Kartesia, said: “The last 12 months have been transformative for Kartesia and the recognition from our peers coupled to the appetite of our investors will continue to help us achieve our target returns and strengthen our credit platform across Europe in 2018 and beyond.”
Jaime Prieto, Managing Partner of Kartesia, added: “Kartesia was launched almost 10 years ago with the conviction that the lower end of the market held countless opportunities for flexible finance providers. We can go further then plain vanilla deals and thrive in finding the best way to support management teams’ growth plans. We are honoured to receive these two Private Debt Investor awards and truly appreciate the recognition from our peers, investors and partners. The entire Kartesia team will continue to focus on helping sponsored and sponsorless SMEs across Europe.”
