Kartesia continues European expansion with multiple new hires

Kartesia is pleased to announce seven new hires for both its investment and operations teams, as it continues to grow its assets under management across Europe. The new employees will be based across Kartesia’s offices in London, Paris, Madrid and Luxembourg.

Following the hire of Nick Holman from Santander UK in February this year to launch and lead Kartesia’s UK senior debt activity, Karan Patole is joining as an Associate from 23 Capital. Karan has five years’ experience and will be responsible for sourcing, executing and monitoring investments across Europe, with a focus on the UK. Cristina Amil Gil de Biedman will also join the London office as an Associate in the operations team. She joins from Goldman Sachs, where she worked in client servicing in the Private Wealth Management division for four years.

Kartesia has been increasingly active in the Spanish market and last week announced its second investment in the country this year with the provision of a senior debt facility to support the acquisition of STM. The team in Madrid has been strengthened with the hire of Jorge Gimenez-Arribas as Associate and Antonio Pastor as Analyst, bringing the total number of investment professionals dedicated to the Iberian market up to seven. Prior to joining Kartesia, Gimenez-Arribas worked in the investment banking division at UBS for four years, while Pastor was part of the investment banking team at independent financial advisory Arcano in Madrid.

Alexis Midol has joined the growing team in Paris as an Associate with a focus on French investment opportunities. Before joining Kartesia, Alexis worked in the Leverage Acquisition Finance team for the Bank of Ireland in Paris and in Deutsche Bank’s investment banking division. The Operations team in Luxembourg has been bolstered with the addition of Coralie Gallego as Financial Analyst and Benoit Lapuh as Compliance Officer, whose past experience includes time at KPMG and EY respectively.

Earlier this month, Kartesia announced the hire of Lizeth Bonilla from BNP Paribas to expand its structured credit business. Bonilla is based in London and reports into Sharif Anbar-Colas, Head of Structured Credit.

Jaime Prieto, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, said:

“The addition of such exceptional talent across the business is testament to Kartesia’s leading position in European credit markets. We have been able to continue investing despite the difficult circumstances this year and the growth of the team will allow us to identify and execute on a wider variety of opportunities as we deploy capital from our dedicated and multi-credit strategies.”
