KARTESIA HIRES SHARIF ANBAR-COLAS TO STRENGTHEN CLO EXPERTISE
Kartesia, the European specialist provider of capital solutions for small and mid-sized companies, announces that it has hired Sharif Anbar-Colas from Jefferies as a Portfolio Manager, as it seeks to continue to strengthen its position in the collateralized loan obligation (CLO) market.
Sharif has 18 years’ experience in capital markets, 16 of which have focused on Structured Credit products. He was previously a Managing Director at global investment banking firm Jefferies, heading the EUR CLO/CDO trading desk. Prior to this, he worked on the CLO and Structured Credit desks at Cohen & Co and UBS.
Kartesia has been investing in CLO liabilities and equities since 2010, delivering strong performance and returns across the four funds it has raised so far. Its funds typically have a 15-20% bucket to invest in CLO tranches.
Sharif Anbar-Colas commented: ““I am excited to join Kartesia, whose strong reputation and deep expertise in credit provides the ideal foundation to develop the Structured Credit division and provide our investors with complementary products to diversify risk and enhance returns.”
Jaime Prieto, co-founder and managing partner of Kartesia, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sharif to the Kartesia team and are confident that his experience will be a perfect match for our existing CLO capabilities as we continue to grow and diversify our offering.”
